A former small underground Zn-Pb-Ag-Cu-Fe mine located in East-central sec. 10, T.18S., R.23E. (Pearce 15 minute topo map), 1½ miles SW of Cochise Peak. Produced 1917-1965. Operators included E.B. Escapule and C.L. Jones.
Mineralization is oxidized and siliceous zinc ore with minor lead and copper in irregular masses in fault breccia made up largely of Paleozoic limestone fragments. Alteration is oxidation and silicification.
Local structures include east-dipping, NW-trending thrust sheets, steep-dipping to overturned Cretaceous beds. Complex Tertiary faulting of Paleozoic and Cretaceous sediments, Tertiary intrusives. The fault breccia is made up of Paleozoic limestone fragments. Age and formation undefined in the literature.
Workings include tunnels. Some 105 tons of ore were produced in 1917-1918 and about 45 tons were produced in 1965.
