The Pease granite quarry was opened in 1886 by the Milford Quarry & Construction Co. and was located in South Milford, about 1 1/2 miles S. 25° W. of Milford village, on the 350 feet level, on the same hill the Lovejoy and Kittredge quarries were on.
The granite in the east half of the quarry was a quartz monzonite of light-gray shade (with very slight bluish tinge apparent only in large masses of the stone) and spangled with black mica.
The granite from the west half of the quarry was a quartz monzonite of light buff-gray color spangled with black mica.
