A former small surface and underground Cu-Pb-Ag-W mine group located in the center of sec. 13, T.17S., R.31E. (protracted) (Portal 15 minute topo map), 1½ miles NW of Paradise, on private land. Discovered 1880. Operated by the Texas Consolidated Mining and Smelting Co. Owned by Carroll S. Neese and E.F. Vickers (1960-19__).
Mineralization is a contact metamorphic deposit with base metal carbonates and sulfides with spotty scheelite in fault zones in tactite bands in pyrometamorphosed Pennsylvanian-Permian Naco Group Limestone along an intrusive porphyry contact.
Local structures include a nearby intersection of two faults, one N55W with a dip of 86NE, and one E-W with a dip of 58N. The porphyry intrusion trends NW.
Workings include an open cut, adit, and shaft. Some 50 or more tons of ore were produced in the 1880's and one small lot of ore was mined in 1937.
