An U-V-Cui occurrence located in the approximate NW¼ sec. 4, T41N, R19E, G&SRM, 7.3 km (4.5 miles) E of Hoskinnini Mesa (coordinates of record) and 7.1 km (4.4 miles) WSW of Goulding (San Juan County, Utah), in West Monument Valley.
Mineralization is an U channel deposit in a NNW-trending paleochannel filled with rocks of the Shinarump Member of the Chinle Formation. Ore includes uraninite and copper sulfides. Located on the east flank of the Oljeto syncline, which is superimposed on the Monument upwarp.
Workings include 27,000 feet of drilling to an average depth of 120 feet.
Room and pillar method of underground mining. Workings caved in 1961 following flooding.
Production was 10,484 tons of ore @0.66% U308; 0.29% V2O5 (1956, 1957 & 1961).
