An V-U occurrence/claim located 3.7 miles SW of the Bitlabito School, perhaps 500 feet W of the New Mexico state line. It is not listed in the USGS MRDS database. Located by UNDC (The United Nations Disarmament Commission or United Nations Development Corporation) personnel in the early 1940's (UNDC location SW-40).
Mineralization is a V-U deposit with tyuyamunite and dark vanadium minerals in two seams one foot apart in sandstone beds of the lower part of the Salt Wash member of the Morrison Formation. The outcrop has a length of about 40 feet. The seams are 0.5-1.5 feet thick.
A road was built to the property but it was never developed.
Analysis data results: 0.5-2.5% V2O5; 0.05-0.5% U3O8.
