The reference details a track heading west from the Old Kathleen Road following a creek, although this presently could not be seen. The pegmatite is approximately 150 metres long, 0.5-1.5 metres wide, containing abundant fine grained massive lepidolite in places. The pegmatite is named after Mate Alac, a Dalmatian immigrant who worked copper deposits in the Kathleen Valley area in the 1950's and 1960's. The reference states the track continues to his former camp and copper deposit he worked, but this also could not be seen.
