Historic gold mine. Bordered to the north by the Point Russell, south Cambria, west Caledonian, and north Moanataiari leases.
Stormy shareholder meetings were a feature of the Non Pareil Gold Mining Company in the early 1870's. At one point the company had two board of directors and two legal managers, when one chairman and set of directors refused to resign at the insistence of shareholders. Mine manager John Goldsworthy, by all accounts had managed the mine well, was dismissed for no apparent reason. The lease was eventually incorporated into the New Moanataiari.
