Cava di Montemerlo, Cervarese Santa Croce, Colli Euganei, Provincia di Padova, Veneto, Italia
Active quarry of "grey" trachyte near the village of Montemerlo.
Minerals as quartz (ordinary crystals and paramorphs after tridymite), apatite, amphibole, ilmenite, magnetite, and molybdenite are found in the small trachyte cavities. Sedimentary, magmatic, and metamorphic xenoliths are particularly abundant inside trachyte. In some sedimentary xenoliths hydrocalumite and ettringite have been identified.
