Historic gold mine.

The Golden Pah Mine was one kilometre west of Coromandel town, bordering McGregor Bay on the hill above the Union Beach gold mine.

Like most of the mines in this area rich specimen stone was found in places in the upper levels, however this never went to any extent laterally, and there was poor ore grades at depth. Enough gold was found to generate investor excitement, and the formation of companies, who then struggled to make a going concern of the mine.

The mine was active under the first Golden Pah Gold Mining Company from around 1870, although as the decade progressed, tributers became more prominent. In the early 1880's, the Union Beach Company had come to an arrangement it could access its lode from the Golden Pah shaft.

The Coromandel Gold Mining Company was floated to in 1886 to take over the Golden Pah, Union Beach, and United claims.

In 1896, the Golden Pah Company was formed in London, as a subsidiary of the Hauraki Main Lodes Ltd. This second company had taken over all the leases in the area, and was driving towards the Golden Pah lode from the Hauraki Mine to the north. Edward Arthur Daldy, originally from Tasmania, was mine manager.

It is reported in 1903, the mine was purchased from the company by Henry Hopper Adams and J. Smith. Four tributing parties were operating in the mine at the time. The last information for this period was found in 1911 when the Golden Pah Company is voluntarily wound up.

It is reported in 1932, a small amount of ore is being extracted by a mining party.
