A base metal mine: Cu- ,Zn- ,Pb- ,Fe-sulfider, As ,Sb, Bi, Sn.
The Håverstøl mine is located ca. 16,6 km NW of Evje, at the top of a mountain at a height of ca. 657 m, on the eastern edge of the Fiskårdalen valley.
The mine is located within a zone of amphibolite to biotite gneiss rocks sandwiched between two thrust faults (Falkum, 1982) interpreted to be related to the Mandal-Ustaoset fault.
The ore mineralisation comprises chalcopyrite and pyrrhotite in quartz veins and as impregnation in gneiss. In some place the zone is reported to be 0,7 m thick with an average copper content of 8,6%.
Of three analyzed samples, only one contained detectable amounts of gold, namely 0.32g/t Au.
