Auriferous small quartz veins discovered by Flemming Sandagger. The width of the veins is small, but in a thick lode or mullock formation. It dips east by 62 degrees. Scheelite is also irregularly distributed in the quartz veins.

Information was found for Sandagger in the Waipori area from 1910 to 1917.

He probably can take some credit for getting a geology survey of the district, published by Marshall in 1918, badgering the Mines Minister on a visit in 1915, and promoting the idea through the local miner's association.

In 1914, he formed the Waipori Prospecting Company, financed by Lawrence businessmen to the tune of 2000 pounds capital. The purpose was to prospect and potentially re-open the O.P.Q. Mine at Waipori. Both Sandagger and E.C. Rodgers had worked at the mine several years earlier, and secured the tailings to treat via the cyanide process. When this was successful, they decided to try and raise capital to re-open the mine. Brown, Sandagger, Robert G Cotton, J.B. McKinlay, J.K. Simpson were all directors.

In 1916, he took out a prospecting licence with Browne and Rodgers (surnames), and another prospecting area with Thomas O'Brien.

Sandagger had been interested in the campaigns of World War One, making several donations to relief funds. This manifested itself into him volunteering for service early 1917, as sergeant, as part of 4th Otago Rifles Regiment. There is no indication he returned to the gold field.

Neither is there any evidence major mining took place at Sandagger's lode, and was probably prospected only. Described as one mile north of the Canton battery site, on the south west side of the hill separating Mitchells Flat, and the now flooded Waipori Flat. This would place it somewhere near the intersection of the Waipori Road, and Mitchells Flat Road. The area has since been cleared for agriculture, and no trace of the site could be found.
