The bay of Saint-Anne constitutes an original "trap" for heavy sands (L. Chauris).
In the northwestern part of the bay, there is an outcrop of gabbro that intruded together with the pink granite of Ploumanac'h 300 MY ago. Microcline crystals from the granite intruded in some places in the gabbro, and they got surrounded by plagioclase: a "rapakivi" structure.
