A tributary running into the Taieri River, six kilometres south of Hindon. Much alluvial gold was won from the stream in the 1860's and 1870's.
In 1892, it is reported the Undaunted Company is working two miles of the stream, uncovering some rich patches, although it was the last gasp of activity on the goldfield. A tail race had been constructed taking two years, which needed to be tunnelled under an enormous land slip. Hare and Young, as well as Long Joe and party are noted as working alluvial claims the same time.
Beyond this Lewis Harris states there is only a dozen alluvial miners across the whole of the gold field barely scratching a living. The town is deserted and desolate, yet in the early days vast quantities of alluvial gold was won. The quartz reefs which once promised so much are deserted , except the Gladstone near the town, worked by Shepherd and Todd. Lewis blames the state of affairs, partly on the west coast rush, which led to miners abandoning their claims, and the government allocating agricultural land, locking miners out.
