Tiny trilobite fossils in a limestone outcrop, one kilometre upstream from the head of Cobb Dam. First discovered in 1948, the rock shows 15 species of trilobites. Since the creation of the Kahurangi National Park in the 1990's, collecting is forbidden. Fifteen other fossil locations have been found in the area. They are New Zealand's oldest fossils, dating middle Cambrian. The rock can be accessed by car, although a 4 wheel drive is recommended in winter. Nearby to the rock is a tramper's hut, and campground.
