Crowes shaft; White shaft
A former small open cut operated circa 1910 to 1918.
Destroyed by large open cut mining 1963-1970.

Production stated as 159.41 tons containing 96.32 tons Sn and 18.42 concentrate, as well as 1,179 tons WO3.
Geologist observations for O'Brien's Cut before 1963 suggest that the lodes could be part of drag folding adjacent to faulting accompanying emplacement of the quartz lodes. Also breccia of angular quartz fragments healed by dark brown to black limonite. The veins ranged from threads to 0.46 metres wide, averaging 0.3-0.9 metres wide, up to 130 metres in length and to a depth of 60 metres. For White shaft several quartz veins and quartz pods to 0.6 metres wide transecting the bedding, dipping steeply east. Eastern veins cassiterite dominant and western veins wolframite dominant. The shaft reached a depth of 130 metres.
