Structure: Plainview Syncline, Striking E-W, With Beds Almost Flat.

Tectonics: Interior Basin; Deltaic Red Bed Margin

Deposit: Stroud and others (1970, p. 38) is source for 5 copper localities in sec. 10-7n-23w; presumably in the meadows copper shale in the upper flowerpot shale, from 8-inch to 24-inch bed, which analyzed at 0.02-0.36% cu. Precise localities not given, except SW and se-10-7n-23w. Overall area is 640 acres around haystack mountain.

Development: Outcrop

Geology: Meadows copper shale bed of flowerpot shale, about 25 ft below haystack gypsum. Kiser gypsum member of flowerpot shale, a few feet above meadows copper shale. Murphey (1958, p. 86-88) gives geology.; hr.age.mv: guadalupian
