The Golden Slipper gold mine is 30 kilometres north north-west of Tennant Creek, and a few hundred metres north of the Queen of Sheba gold mine.
The location consists of several shafts and pits 0.5 to 12 metres in a north-south line on a hematite rich ironstone body, that occupies a shear filled with quartz/clay, and hematite rocks on the Hanging Wall. The auriferous ironstone body forms a vertical extended pod, pinching out at the surface and at depth. The deposit is located in a fault zone where west north-west structures, intersect north north-east structures.
From around the mid 1930's to 1939 the mine had produced 146.9 tonnes of ore for 47.12 ounces of gold, but by whom could not be found. The lease was taken up by Tom Cameron, and Max Jackson in 1942, with crushings from the mine in the late 1940's from the same party. Explored by Poseidon Gold in the 1990's.
