The "fairy cave".
Located near the laguna shore, the cave presents several entries that lead to drowned galleries (120 m long, -34 m deep). Explored from 1909 then in 1914 and 1919, the cave has provided antique items laid in the entrance and inside the cave : flint knives, vases, ax polishers, notched pebbles, bone beads, decorated potteries, claw pendants and scattered bones including three skulls.
The occupation of the cave dates from the Chalcolithic era (2000-1800 BC). The cave also delivered objects from the Gallo-Roman period.
As the entire South Leucate peninsula the cave is of limestone.
Calcite all around outside the cave near the laguna shore is common in fields walls or on the ground.
