The Hyman Gold Mine was a historic lease from the early 20th Century, adjacent to the Mystery lease, and probably now incorporated into the modern Mystery Gold Mine open pit.
Only noted in the sources across 1911-1912, although un-reported activity may have occurred either side of these dates. John Crawford was given a bravery award in 1911, for rescuing William McDonald in the underground workings, who had been overcome by fumes.
The Hyman mine had been worked at the 80 to 120 foot levels, but little gold is reported. The mine was on the Mystery Lode, which travelled through the Belgravia lease near the old Kanowna railway, then north through Sheba, Lone Hand, Little Wonder, and Mystery leases, before a fault throws the lode north-east through the Hyman lease, where it becomes gold poor.
