Owned by George Stevenson and party who had floated a development syndicate, with 4000 pounds working capital in 1896. Fitzgerald (surname) was mine manager. 24 acres. The main lode was sugary quartz, and a small amount of alluvial gold had been obtained near the reef.
A costean had been dug for 100 feet across the lode, showing a kaolin formation on the Footwall side backed by a slate wall; and another gold bearing formation near the Hanging Wall, running parallel and dipping into the main lode.
The lease was bounded by the Great Scotch Gold Hole, Grand Flaneur, and Oaklands leases.
After spending most of 1897 sinking a shaft, one of the last reports from the mine was unusually blunt. The lode was quartzite, ironstone, kaolin and quartz leaders, with occasional bands of schistose slate carrying a little gold. The lode was very unsettled and un-defined.
