Anomaly 38 was discovered by Cyprus Gold in 1996. The gold anomaly is covered by extensive sand flats 10-50 metres deep, north of the Woodline area. While it is a gold anomaly, significant nickel was also found.
The bedrock geology is cumulative textured ultramafics, with rare spinifex textures, with some basalt and felsic volcanics. The lower saprolite contains nickel grades from 0.5 to 1.5%, within porous box work silicified ferruginous clays.
