Intermittent activity from 1897 to 1916. A lease was approved here in 1897, but the name of the applicant is not mentioned. Two crushings were found in 1897, a substantial 250 tonnes for 84.5 ounces at 6.75 dwt, and around the same time in November 35 tonnes. The lease was forfeited in June 1898. GML 1020W.
Dave Whyte discovered a new reef at the mine on the Hanging Wall in 1902. A month later the source states after an initial crushing, operations were suspended due to the prospectors suffering 'funk'. The old English meaning of this is suffering anxiety, panic, cowardness, and the source appears to be implying they lost confidence in the mine and left. Later the same year Taylor, Jones and Bentan produce 40 tonnes at 43 ounces.
Mitchell and party produced 27.5 tonnes for 33 ounces in 1909. Ayre and Lester 1916 35 tonnes at 14 dwt, and 23 tonnes for 25 ounces.
The location is about 8 kilometres south-west of Broad Arrow. Where the Broad arrow-Mount Pleasant Road makes a sharp turn from heading south-west to west (if heading west), a track continues for 1 kilometre south-west. Several shafts are scattered widely through the scrub in this area, mostly but not all west of the track, and probably little touched since 1916.
