The Palace deposit was discovered in the 1990's by Mining Corporation of Australia Limited. It is an abandoned water filled pit bordering the south side of the haulage road between the Mount Pleasant complex and Paddington mill. Palaeochannel gold mineralisation here is found entirely in the saprolite below the upper sand layer, whereas in most of these type of deposits at Mount Pleasant, gold is found in both.
