The Gimlet Consols is a historic lease, amongst several, now swallowed up by the large Gimlet South open cut, 500 metres south of Ora Banda. GML 1739W.
It was adjacent to the historic Gimlet South lease itself, and worked down to 150 feet. The Gimlet Consols was owned by a syndicate of Kalgoorlie residents called the Jolly Jack syndicate. In 1914 they advertised tenders to sink a new shaft. W. Bartley , Ellis, Charles Baker, William Young, Herman, and Patrick Nevin are found as part of the syndicate. The syndicate had worked the lease from 1910, spending 500 pounds on development.
The Mindat co-ordinates are approximate, and denote the large Gimlet South open pit.
