Köppen climate type:
Named after Arthur Gull, who discovered gold at this large quartz outcrop. A large tunnel was dug into the hill, and 3000 ounces of gold won, and enough to buy a farm near Perth.
Sands and Jenkins found 200 ounces at the foot of the blow, while Tom Lomasney and Jim Lawless developed a nearby gully, the latter getting enough to retire.
John Fardy, local Goongarrie prospector took out the lease (6 acres, GML 5722Z) in 1916. Hansel Mundy then had control of the lease the following year and applied for continuous exemptions for the next 18 months. At this time the mine was known as Boddington Star GML 5441Z.
The mine was just south of the Caledonia open pits, but the area is much disturbed from modern mining.
