Located at the southern end of the Mulwarrie line of lode. The mine dates from the late 1890's. It was owned by Vernon, Grainger and Brophy (surnames). 12 acres.
The Empire Extended Gold Mines NL took an interest in the site in 1931. A report was produced by mining engineer J. Semmens Allen. He states the lease is 24 acres P.A. 507, owned by E. Taylor and Sons.
There is a main shaft on the lease down to a depth of 140 feet, on a lode 3 feet wide, and 1 foot wide at the surface of oxidised quartz with well defined walls. Most of the ore had already been taken out down to 90 feet, the limit where the sulphide ore took over. This was not amenable to processing in the 1890's. A tremayne mill and machinery was on the lease.
Another reef to the west was a saddle formation with the cap near the surface dipping east and west. The company took up four leases as a 6 months option for 200 pounds, with an option to purchase of 7000 pounds.
Two additional leases also by J.S. Allen and A.J. Mellor involved with the company. A further two leases were pegged by J.A. Maloney of Kalgoorlie and Charles Martin a local prospector. Empire did some development work and produced a trial crushing, then nothing more was heard.
A small trial pit exists at the location from recent decades.
