A former Cr-Fe occurrence/mine located in the center S½ sec. 1, T4S, R3E, MDM, 5.0 km (3.1 mkiles) ENE of Mendenhall Springs and 12 miles East of Livermore, along the E canyon wall of Corral Hollow Creek. Owned by Mr Taylor, California (1974) and by F. Woodsworth (100%), Redwood City, California (1976). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters.

The ore body strikes N00W and dips 30N. Ore body No. 1 is tabular, disseminated while ore body No. 2 is irregular in a shear zone. A thin, discontinuous seam of ore is in place.The primary mode of origin was magmatic differentiation and the secondary mode of origin was other. Primary ore control was lithology and the secondary control was fracturing. Wallrock alteration is intense (carbonitization). Local rocks include rocks of the Franciscan melange.

The last operator claimed 55% Cr2O3 with a Cr:Fe ratio of 3.5:1.0 was typical.

Analysis by the Division of Mines and Geology in 1976 gave the following percentages: Massive 2: Cr2O3 = 49.33% FeO = 09.35%, total Fe = 12.87%, Al203 = 06.22%, MgO = ?, Cr:Fe = 3.38:1. Disseminated ore: SiO2 = 3.30%, Cr2O3 = 54.81%, FeO = 13.74%, Fe = 16.08%, Al2O3 = 8.29%, MgO = 12.27%, Cr:Fe = 3.0:1.

No reserve estimate was possible. Last operator claimed that good reserves were left.
