At the east-protruding spur of the Punta del Sabbione/Hohsadhorn southeastern ridge, various different rocks crop out: kyanite-bearing micaschists at the contact between gneiss and calcschists; dolostones at the contact with gneiss and calcschists.

Alpine fissures in gneiss and calcschists are filled with quartz crystals and various associated minerals.
