Historic prospecting areas are not normally listed here, due to the limited information available, and by their nature often little gold is found. The 1906 State Engineer's report gives some details on P.A. 139. It states it is south-west of the Mount Catherine Gold Mine, and was being worked at this time by Donovan and party. The reef trended north north-east to south south-west, the walls 3 feet apart and well defined, in weathered greenstone. A fair amount of driving had been done from the shaft, with three crushings reported, being 7 tonnes at 16 dwt, 12 tonnes at 28 dwt and 38 tonnes at 16 dwt.
