The Two D's Gold Mine is an isolated location with no other workings nearby. It is about 3 kilometres east of the Goldfields Highway, along a minor station track which heads in a straight line east south-east. A collapsed wooden headframe, winding gear, ore bins, foundations, and several large boilers lying about like beached whales remain. A short line of shafts extends to the east.

It was a large low grade deposit with a long history till the late 1940's. Its early history could not be found, the first mention 1910, under the ownership of MacNamara and Mullaney (surnames). They had been working the deposit for a number of years, said to be 20 feet wide, and worked to a depth of 160 feet.

Shortly after William Bright took over, who retained ownership of the mine for the rest of its history. In 1917 a Krupp ball mill was erected. Up to eight men were employed. 12 000 to 15 000 tonnes of ore were extracted up to World War Two, with payable results, at least enough to keep food on the table in the Bright household.

Bright abandoned the three leases during World War Two due to a shortage of labour. He re-pegged them in December 1945, but his problems continued. Bright applied for a series of exemptions, still suffering a shortage of attracting experienced miners. Further most of the gold was required to be cyanided, and new vats and piping was required. Immediately after the war there was a materials shortage, and he was unable to obtain these items. The timber was also rotting in the shafts which required replacement. It appears the mine never recovered.
