'The beauty of work is looking on and seeing someone else do it' -William Hill.
Like many of the locations in this area, this was a minor prospector show, with little remaining, and difficult to locate on the ground. It is six kilometres south of Menzies, and about three kilometres east, accessed via faint station tracks in an easterly direction from the Yunndaga Station Road. A couple of shafts is all that remains.
The deposit was discovered by William Hill around 1906, and he was given it as a reward claim. 18 acres. Three shafts were sunk to a depth of 60 feet. Hill erected a house on the property. He also took out a lease just north called Pride of the Hills, worked by himself and Kirby, the latter one of the original party who found gold in the Menzies area on the Pioneer lease. Nothing was found beyond 1907.
