In pegmatite.
First major producer in the area in operation from 1921 to 1927. 18,903 tons of feldspar were mined. The operator was Rock Products Limited of Ohio. The pit is water-filled and measured 38 m x 15 m x 37 m.7
Opened in 1921 by Rock Products, Ltd., of Silica, Ohio, this mine was one of the earliest major properties to be worked in Bathurst township and
remained the principal operator until it was closed down in 1928.
Operations were commenced on a rather narrow surface showing of red spar, which, however, widened with depth to 30 feet at the bottom of the main pit. This pit, situated on lot 20, is 125 by 50 by 120 feet deep and yielded a large tonnage of good quality spar. A second smaller pit was opened on lot 21, from which 2,000 tons are stated to have been taken.
