Only one article was found relating to the mine under the Minewai name, being 1903. This is a remote goldfield, and information for smaller mines did not reach newspapers a lot of the time. As Crescent it is mentioned once relating to a total mined, and is thought to have been a later name. Manawoi was only found on maps, and has been included. It is possibly a spelling error.
The mine is east of the Fisher Well location, or alternatively 15 kilometres north of Rosemont Gold Mine intersection. It is 200 metres east of the Urarey Warren Bore Road, and reached by a faint un-marked track. There is a small amount of battery sands in a barren area, and 200 metre north-south line of widely spaced shafts.
The article found states it was the first gold discovery in the area by Glendinning and White 1894 or 1895. They worked it initially before a private syndicate took over. The syndicate determined there was little gold at the site, abandoning it, and removing the battery.
The mine produced only 4 tonnes of ore for 20 ounces of gold. It is possible these figures are incomplete.
