The Bounty Gold Mine borders the northern side of the road, where it takes a sharp bend just before the Cox-Crusader Mine. Little remains at the location.
The deposit was first pegged by prospector Emanuel Claudius, after which the nearby Claudius Creek is named after. He gave the lease away to another prospector, believing it to be valueless. By 1904 the mine had produced 1621 tonnes of ore for 1165 ounces of gold. The first phase of the East Murchison United took over the lease in the late 1890's.
Later owners included B. Smith and Langford in the period after the turn of the 20th Century. The Branson brothers in the period before the Great War. Harry Poole in the early 1920's, who owned several leases and a battery on the goldfield. All of the above were heavily involved in mining on the goldfield over several years, or decades. The mine was part of several leases owned by the second incarnation of the East Murchison United in 1935.
The main reef trended north-south and dipped vertically, averaging 1 foot thick. The main workings were at the junction of the main reef, and a smaller one. GML 414. 2 x 6 acres ea.
