The Golden Swan was a historic lease, south of the present New Holland mine, in the vicinity of the Hidden Secret mine, 3 kilometres west of Agnew.
The deposit was discovered by Swan and Green (surnames) in 1910, and immediately set about mining it. Initially it was very rich, the first crushing of 13 tonnes yielded 70 ounces.
Two years later mining was nearing a end. The reef was irregular in size and values. A crushing this year of 54 tonnes yielded 57 ounces. The deposit contained small quartz leaders of variable orientations in porphyry.
