The Deakin Gold Mine is part of a larger superpit in the central section of the Jundee mine complex. The Moore pit adjoins it to the south and Nim 6 to the north. The deposit was discovered by Geochemex Australia in the early 1990's, when Mark Creasy controlled the tenements.
