The localities for anorthosite with labradorite showing schiller effect (labradorescence) is located both in the municipalities of Hå and Eigersund. There are currently (2015) two active quarries for labradorescenct anorthosite for ornamental use, the Krokavatnet Southeast in Eigersund, and Sirevåg in Hå. The area is extensively mapped and several localities have been identified.

The Æsan locality consist of three small hills of good quality anorthosite covering an area of 250 x 80m.
