The largest gypsum quarry in the world. In operation since 1954. In 2015 it received approval for an expansion that would allow mining for at least 20 more years.

The gypsum it sent by train to Bedford Basin where it is loaded onto boats and sent to the United States for processing into wallboard.

In 1991 a mastodon skeleton was found at the quarry.
