Block 14 Proprietary Record Mine
Campbell states it is at the south end of a hill. The reef is curved in between some quartz porphyry dykes, in a north-south direction, dipping 65 degrees east.
GML 498. A shaft was down to 60 feet, and some stoping took place. The lease was forfeited in February 1897. It was re-applied in December 1898 as GML 729. The shaft was then deepened to 100 feet. A portion of the reef was 'bundled' against a quartz porphyry dyke.
The ground was taken up as GML 901. A new shaft was sunk to the east of the first shaft, on a quartz leader 2-6 inches thick, showing gold. This already small leader rapidly thinned. Brown coloured residue of quartz tested for scheelite.
