The lease was situated north of the Break O' Day leases. Operations at the mine had been suspended by 1898. There were two leases, one 6 acres, the other 12 acres. The lease contained 3 shafts each down to 100 feet.
The reef takes a semi circular course through the lease from the west to the south boundary. The most northern shaft on the lease was the main shaft, on a reef averaging 2 feet wide. The mine contained exceptionally rich gold near the surface. This encouraged the company to erect a full plant. They then found poor grades at depth, and hit financial difficulties.
The battery was located about 1 kilometre east of the mine at the side of the salt lake. The battery had been manufactured by Forwood Downs and Co of Adelaide.
