The Lady Miller Gold Mine is approximately 6 kilometres south of Norseman. Prospectors and alluvial gold seekers worked the area in the late 1890's, in particular along two gullies called Oriental and Salvator, either side of the lease.
Anthony Cox for the Lady Mary Company acquired the lease in 1905 intent on a more systematic development. The lease contained a north-south striking ironstone banded quartz outcropping reef, its full length, with high grade gold where two spurs of the outcrop met. About 1000 feet of driving was done, and limited mining. In 1908, it is reported the mine is owned by the Hampton Plains Estate, but by 1909, activity had ground to a halt as the company tried to obtain more funds. Other sources states the company was called the Lady Miller Company. Apart from a lack of funds, another problem was the battery was only recovering 60% of the gold. This was overcome in 1911 and mining resumed, but nothing was found in this regard after 1912.
From 1934 to 1938, the South Norseman NL, was active on the lease and the O.K. mine nearby. Confusingly during this period there was also a Lady Miller Gold Mines NL (WA), but they were developing another lease in the area called the Veni Vidi Vici.
Central Norseman Gold Mines acquired the mine early 1940. They developed an open pit, with some underground mining at the site in the 1990's. Indicated and Inferred remnant resources at the mine is 0.77 Mt at 2.3 g/t, with much of this resource under the northern section of the pit. This includes a high grade north-west plunging shoot, as part of numerous west dipping lodes.
