The Dulcie group of mines is named after this historic gold mine. They are about 40 kilometres south of Marvel Loch, and within 100 metres west of the Marvel Loch-Forrestania Road. They include the Mountain Devil, Pomeranian, Drone, and Snowdrop mines, of which not enough information was found to include on Mindat. The group also includes the Constance Una, Scots Greys, and Langley Mindat entries. Most were minor mines operated by prospectors, but some obtained rich gold from their leases for a short time.

The earliest record found for the Dulcie Jean was in 1907, when the Dulcie Jean Syndicate is reported to have crushed 18 tonnes for 33 ounces at 4 dwt.

No further information was found until 1932. The area was particularly active with prospectors across the 1930's, however the sources are lax in identifying individual prospectors to the named leases. There appears to have been a Dulcie Jean South, Dulcie Jean North and central Dulcie Jean, on the Dulcie line of lode. The sources tend to attribute more than one prospector to the same lease at the same time, or the same prospector to different leases. In this respect, caution should be taken with the following information.

W.G. Handmer is noted at the Dulcie Jean and/or Dulcie Jean South from 1932 to the mid 1930's. Several small crushings are noted. He also erected a 3 head battery that by 1939 was at the Spring Hill mine to the north near Parker Range. Some of the prospectors crushed ore at this battery, however most crushed at Scots Greys mine which had a 5 head battery. Handmer had started at the location in 1932, and was accessing a flat lying reef at the 300 foot level.

The Skipper brothers and Kelsall (surnames) sent through several crushings also from the early to mid 1930's. They were attributed generally to the Dulcie line of lode or Dulcie Jean North. In 1933, they had sunk a new shaft, but only to 6 feet below the surface. They started at the location in 1932, and were inexperienced miners.

G. and O. Mellor are noted briefly in 1932 at the Dulcie Jean South, and put through a small crushing. R. B. Andrews applies for the Dulcie Jean lease or nearby GML 3460 in February 1934. H.B. King sends through a small crushing named as the Dulcie Jean GML 3401 early 1938.
