Following translated from French SIGEOM:
STATUS: It is a closed open pit mine for asbestos and talc. It was discovered in 1908 and is located 2 km north of the village of Robertsonville.
Work History: In 1908, Mr. LABONTE - Exploration and discovery of asbestos in a prospecting pit in lot 9. In 1927 ASBESTOS CORP. LTD - End of operations at the mine.
LITHOLOGY: lithology: The host rock is a serpentinized peridotite overlooking a métagrauwacke and metabasalt the Caldwell Group.
MINERALIZATION: Consists of chrysotile and talc.
Refer to the map attached. The purple is the ophiolitic serpentized harzburgite in the Pennington sheet. The Brown country rock is the Bennet schist, which are quartzifiied, sericitic or albite-sericite-chlorite schists.
