The location borders the Coolgardie-Norseman Highway directly east of its junction with the Higginsville processing plant access road, with the Fairplay tailings heap bordering the area to the east. There are some battery sands, old sheds, shafts, disturbed areas etc.
This was the location P.J. Higgins first found gold here in June 1905, and the man Higginsville is named after. Only two months later the Sons of Erin Gold Mining Co had formed, a 10 head battery erected, and 50 men employed. The gold was said to be very fine.
From August 1906, Higgins sold the mine to the Red Hill Company (Hampton Plains Co, or Red Hill Extended Co -depending on the source). From 1908 to 1912 the mine was let to various tributers.
All fell silent until a brief mention in 1936, that a compressor and 5 head battery was erected at the mine. The location has probably been the haunt of lone prospectors at various times since, information on which generally do not reach the public domain.
