The Two Boys Gold Mine is presently an exploration trench directly south of the Higginsville processing plant. Historic information could only be found from 1933, although it is likely to have been active before this date.
Early 1933, its noted the mine is owned by Henry George Scott, who is employing 8 men.
Melbourne based Wavie Gold Development Co took over the mine in 1933. They employ 23 men, 9 of which are working underground. Dr Loftus Hills reported on the deposit at this time. He states the gold is found in a reef of glassy quartz filling a fissure, striking east-west and dipping 20 to 25 degrees north. A five head battery was erected at the site at the end of 1933. There are two shafts on the lease to 15 feet and 40 feet depth.
In 1936 the mine was purchased from the company by James Birmingham. He immediately expanded the battery to 10 heads, and crushings are reported from him intermittently until 1947.
