Located 10 kilometres south-east of Coolgardie, just west of the Coolgardie-Norseman Highway. The site is west of the Barbara-Surprise Mine, where the highway bends from south-east to south. While there are several old pits in the area, little development can be seen at the Lady Marie site other than some old shafts.
In 1945, Gold Exploration NL was floated with 10 000 pounds capital to purchase the old Lady Marie leases. A shaft had been sunk to 55 feet.
