Located about 200 metres south of the Gold Bug Gold Mine. Old sheds and processing equipment may indicate it has been active in recent decades to a limited degree. The area at the time of writing was under an active lease.
Historically, it appears once in the Mines Department reports. 1940, 20.25 tonnes at 7.41 oz. Other production may have occurred in the late 1930's to early 1940's, but it was so small was listed under 'sundry' for the goldfield.
The Big Head mineralisation is hosted by highly altered felsic porphyry.
