Little is known of the original Robbins Mine other than it was operated by the Robbins Mining Company between 1860 and 1903 and three shafts were sunk into the fissure vein along the Greenstone Flow. In 1903, the Phoenix Consolidated Copper Company bought the property and renamed it the West Vein. One shaft was widened, cleared, and re-timbered by Phoenix in hopes of discovering good ore; however, this was not the case. Some mass copper was found, but not enough to make a profit and the mine was abandoned sometime after 1905. Today, the mine privately owned and off limits to collectors and visitors. Before it was sold, collectors were finding copper, silver, datolite, analcime, and apophyllite in the piles.
