Descrição Geológica: Camadas hematíticas, orientadas N 70º E e situadas no contacto por cavalgamento de dioritos com calcários e xistos.
Geologia Local: Zona de contacto pela falha de Messejana do Maciço de Beja (granitos) com o Precâmbrico (rochas quartzo-feldspáticas e micaxistos, gnaisses e quartzitos negros).
Geologia Regional: Precâmbrico. Carbónico.
Mineralizações Principais: Hematite (Oligisto).
Mineralizações Secundárias: Magnetite (Ferro magnético).
