A tin mine on Mylor Downs, southeast of Carclew, which dates back to the early 19th century. A map by Richard Thomas, dated 1808, which is held by the Cornwall Record Office, shows seven shafts in the area between Carclew road and the small valley to the south where the adit portal was located. Some of them could still be located by Hamilton Jenkin in 1973, but much of the area is now built over.
The grid reference marks the approximate location of the engine shaft, as indicated by Hamilton Jenkin.
